We have battery holders for all kinds of needs and projects! Here is our latest innovation: a 2x2 AA battery holder with premium quality wires. What's so special about them? In addition to being a beautiful compact cubic shape, you can connect the wires directly to a breadboard! No need to fight with those skinny, bare wires we're used to having. Of course, you can always solder them on a printed circuit board.

The four batteries are maintained in series, for a nominal output of 6V DC for alkaline batteries (6.4V in new condition, 4V in dead condition), and 4.8V DC for rechargeable batteries (5.2V at full charge, 4.4V at discharge). The use of rechargeable batteries will make it work perfectly with almost any 5V project, with alkaline you can put a 1N4001 diode in series to increase the voltage from 6V to 5.3V.
