This battery holder allows you to connect 2 AA batteries in series to power all kinds of projects. We designed them because the housing is very thin and 2 XAAs are added to about 3V for low voltage electronics projects, in addition to a very convenient on/off switch.

Fits any standard AA battery. When using rechargeable NiMH, the output voltage varies from about 2.7 V with charged batteries to 1.8 V at the end of its life with a nominal voltage of 2.4 V. When using alkaline batteries, the output varies from 3.2V with new batteries to 2.2V at the end of its life with a nominal voltage of about 3V.

The polarity corresponds to that of our 2-pin JST cables and Li-Ion/Poly batteries.

This is an excellent update to the battery packs supplied with the micro:bit because they have an integrated on/off switch so you don't have to pull it off to turn off the power.
