More info
Description
This UDA1334A I2S stereo DAC is perfectly adapted to any I2S audio interface with I2S output. It's affordable but it sounds good! The NXP UDA1334A is ideal: you can use logical levels from 3.3V to 5V (a rarity) and process several different formats by setting two pins to a high or low level. The DAC immediately processes the data and provides you with a clear, analog stereo output at the line level. It's even cool with I2S interfaces without MCLK like the Raspberry Pi (ideal for) - a built-in PLL will generate the correct clock from the bitclock signal.
For inputs, you can use the classic I2S (default) or 16-bit, 20-bit or 24-bit left-justified data. You can set it to provide a master clock-input system, but we set it to generate it for you by default, so you only need to connect the Data In, Word Select (left/right clock) and Bit Clock lines. If you wish, there is a MUTE mode and a de-emphasis filter that you can activate.
We have put a lot of ferrite beads, a low-loss regulator, and the recommended band-pass filter so that you get a very good performance. With a sinusoidal wave generator, we scanned 20-20KHz and saw no attenuation or distortion. Plug in the 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack or the pads compatible withbreadboard. We think you'll like this DAC!
Each control comes with a stereo I2S stereo DAC breakout and a solderable connector.
