This LED strip consists of 60 NeoPixel compatible RGB LEDs with integrated driver over a length of 1m. The width is 12,5mm with the protection and 10mm if you remove it. The FLEX PCB is black in color to make it less noticeable.

This LED strip is fabulous, but there are some important parameters to consider:

    The more LEDs there are in series, the more it consumes, so you have to count 18W or about 3.5A under 5V even if the theory says that 5V 2A is enough. This max consumption is in the most defaroble case with all LEDs lit white, but generally the consumption is around 1.3A. To avoid any problems, the key is a good power supply, like 5V 10A.
    The high density of LED with integrated driver, and having a serial protocol requires a very precise timing, it is thus necessary privileged micro-controller being able to make timings of 100ns. It can be used with Arduino UNO, MEGA, Raspberry PI or any other system with a clock frequency higher than 8MHz.
    The large number of LEDs also requires a large memory size, so it is advisable to use an Arduino MEGA card to take healthy advantage of this RGB LED strip.

These LED strips are really fun, because you can control independently each of the 60 RGB LEDs, it is possible to adjust the component of each color of each LED (Red, Green and Blue) through an integrated PWM of 8 bits per channel, 24 bits per LED. The LEDs are controlled by an integrated shift register on each LED and chained from one to the other. It is therefore possible to cut the LED strip at the desired distance. The integrated controller also has internal PWM, which makes it possible to keep a value without necessarily sending it permanently.
