This is the easiest way to add small bright RGB pixels to your project. We took the same technology from our Flora NeoPixels and made them breadboard compatible, with two 3 x 0.1" rows spaced on each side for easy welding, chaining and prototyping. These ultra bright LEDs have a constant current driver integrated directly into the LED packaging! Pixels can be chained - so you only need one pin/thread to control as many LEDs as you want.

These pixels have 24-bit color capability with PWM supported by the controller chip. Since the LED is so bright, you need less current and power to get the effects you want. The driver is constant current, so it's OK if your battery power changes or fluctuates a bit.

Each pixel consumes up to 60mA (the three RGB LEDs light up for full white brightness). An Arduino can drive up to 500 pixels at 30 FPS (it will have no RAM after that). Using a flat cable, you can chain them up to 6" apart (after that, you could have power drops and data corruption).

Each order is delivered with 4 individually controllable pixels. In the photos above, we show pixels with soldered connectors, but pixels are not supplied with connectors. You can buy them in the shop if you need them.
