More info
Description
When you develop certain systems, energy consumption can quickly become a problem when using solar or battery powered systems, so it is necessary to save as much energy as possible in your installation.
The adafruit TPL5110 is a stand-alone breakout that will transform any electronics into low power electronics! It will transform your project by turning it on and off automatically using an integrated timer that can vary from once every 100 ms to once every two hours. Basically, the TPL will switch on periodically, adjustable by potentiometer or resistance, and will switch on the power supply of your project. It then waits for a signal from your installation to indicate to the TPL that it can safely disable the power supply.
The use is very simple. First, set the desired delay by adjusting the potentiometer on the card: left for "once per 100ms" and right for "once every 2 hours". Then connect VDD to your 3-5V power supply and then power up the project to the Drive pin. Finally, select a signal pin from your mount on the Done pin. In the code or design of your project, simply make sure it triggers the Done Pine once its task is completed. That's it! That's all!
When the TPL5110 is running (but the rest of the project is disabled), the power consumption is about 20uA.
If you want to switch the device on manually, you can also activate the TPL by pressing the built-in touch switch (or connect your own switch to the Delay pin).
The board is sold assembled and tested, with a non-welded male connector.
