Presentation
The Arduino Leonardo is based on the microcontroller ATMEGA32U4, it is an evolution of the Arduino UNO at low cost. Everything has been optimized to reduce costs.
It has 14 digital input/kinds (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 12 analog inputs (with 6 shared on the digital inputs), a 16 MHz quartz oscillator, a USB (micro USB) connection, a power jack, an ICSP connector, and a reset button.
It contains everything needed to fly the microcontroller, simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable to use it simply.
USB management is realized with the ATMEGA32U4 to emulate easily a keyboard or a mouse and other USB as a MIDI link and other devices...
Version Rev3 (R3):
1.0 Pinout: 2 pine (SDA and SSL) are added next to the AREF pin and 2 pine (IOREF and a reserve) are added next to the RESET. These pins will be added on the next shields
Package
The Arduino Leonardo is available in two versions: with or without connectors, it lacks the Headers connectors.
