The Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ is the latest card for lovers of minimalist Pi. Like the Raspberry Pi 3 model B+, it features a 64-bit quad core processor at 1.4 GHz, a dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless LAN and a Bluetooth 4.3/BLE. This economical Pi uses the same processor as the 3 B+ model, but gets rid of the Ethernet socket and three of the USB ports. It is always compatible with all Pi operating systems and software, and has exactly the same 40-pin GPIO connector and camera/display sockets, so all HATs or Pi plates or other things that plug into the B+ model work the same way.

It also has the same HDMI connector, the same sound/composite connector and the same microUSB connector for power supply.

Unlike the Raspberry B+ model, there is only one USB port and no Ethernet socket, but it is also much smaller at 65 mm x 56 mm if you do not include the connector overhang. If you are using pads or cups with the Pi A+ that lie flat, please use adhesive tape or a GPIO spacer to avoid short circuits between the USB port and the cover pads.

Remember that you will need a USB power supply with microUSB cable, and a microSD card with a Raspberry Pi operating system (we suggest a Raspbian 4G or NooBS 8G card)
